Fruits

Fruits are important sources of vitamins and carbohydrates like fiber and sugar. Fruits have significant amounts of nutrients, which are essential to the body's production of energy. Fruit is a healthy food, full of nutrients, high in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and low in fat and calories.

Various fruits have different vitamins, so every type of fruits has its own prominence and it is very essential for every human being to eat a variety of fruits. For example, Mangoes, papayas, melons and citrus fruits, like oranges and grapefruit, are high in vitamin C. Cantaloupe, apricots, peaches, and nectarines are sources of vitamin A.

Fruits are classified as fleshy, drupaceous, and dry. Fleshy fruits include berries, gourds, and melons, orangelike fruits and pomes; drupaceous fruits are stony within and fleshy without, as peaches, plums, and cherries; and dry fruits are further divided into achenes, follicles, legumes, capsules, nuts, and several other kinds.
